Get a Taste.

A workshop to get you off the starting blocks.

Our taster workshops are great for those looking to get stuck into pottery for the first time.

In this two-hour crash course, you’ll learn the basics of hand-building and then use those skills to create your very own mug. Once your form is built, you’ll get to decorate and colour it on the same day using our range of underglazes—so you can add patterns, illustrations, or bold blocks of colour while the clay is still workable.

It’s a short, zero-commitment introduction that takes you from no clue to… okay, maybe not quite pro, but definitely confident enough to design and decorate a mug that feels uniquely yours.

We want you to feel fully supported, even if you’ve never touched clay before. Our tutors will help you turn your inspiration images and ideas into something achievable within the session, offering guidance on shapes, techniques, and colour choices. While we love the beauty of pottery’s impermanence, we also know how special it is to walk away with something real—so you’ll finish the workshop having both made and coloured a mug that we’ll then glaze and fire for you, ready to collect once it’s finished.
